Farming on the St. Lawrence River

Iroquois Farm is Certified Organic by NOFA New York. Organic greens and vegetables are grown and used in the restaurant, are sold at our Farmer's Market, and at at various other markets in St. Lawrence County.

OUR CSA PROGRAM

CARI farm organized a CSA in 2008. Our Community Supported Agricultural Program allows participants to purchase a share of the farm fresh organic produce that can be picked up at the farm Iroquois Farm beginning at the end of June, and continuing each week for 15 weeks. Pick up can also be arranged at the Canton, Potsdam and Ogdensburg Market if it is not convenient to come to the Farm.

A family of 4 to 6 will get the “Full Share” which will provide a variety of vegetables and herbs $450.00. This works out to only $30 for a week's worth of fresh vegetables, greens and herbs. A smaller family can purchase a “Half Share” which would be adequate for a family of 2 to 3, for $250.00. Row crops, particularly soy are sold into the organic market, and hay is sold to organic dairy farms in the area.           This year we will also have winter wheat planted directly across from the Restaurant. It will be harvested in August.
